About the Owner
Maximum Performance Training, LLC. is owned and operated by Allen Cress. Upon relocating to Lexington in 1999, Allen earned a B.S in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky in 2004, with a concentration in Exercise Science. To broaden his education and stay apprised of current developments in fitness and training, Allen has subsequently become a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Trainer, via the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), one of the most prestigious and rigorous certification programs available.
Compounded with his educational and professional development, Allen comparatively demands just as much from himself physically. He has been a successful competitive bodybuilder for the past 15 years, successfully competing and placing 1st as a light-heavyweight in such noteworthy regional events as the Northern Kentucky Championships and the Indiana Championships along with other contests such as the Bluegrass Muscle Classic & the Kentucky Muscle,. Allen has also competed in a number of powerlifting competitions, posting personal best records of a 560lb squat, 545lb deadlift, and a 390lb bench press at a body weight of 180 lbs. Allen's accomplishments in bodybuilding have been featured on the prominent website T-Nation.com in an article entitled, "The Truth About Bulking," authored by respected strength-training coach Christian Thibaudeau. He was also featured in another
T-nation.com article, "Explosive Training for Bodybuilders", authored by his mentor and coach Scott Abel. Scott is founder of Abel Bodies Fitness. He has coached more than 300 physique champions at all levels and categories, from Mr. Olympia to national and regional competitors as well as professional hockey players, football players and wrestlers. To be the best coach in this industry you have to learn from the best, which is what Allen has been doing under the guidance of Scott.
His dynamic and comprehensive training knowledge affords Allen an eclectic clientele base, from working with the public with a variety of goals/needs, to creating successful bodybuilders, to improving the performance of high school, college, and professional athletes such as NBA Center for the Charlotte Bobcats, Nazr Mohammed, for 5 years. Allen also routinely receives referrals from orthopedists and physical therapists for patients suffering from a variety of injuries. Allen's need to continuously cultivate and expand his knowledge in matters of fitness, nutrition, and rehabilitation has contributed greatly to his well-rounded knowledge as a one-stop shop for nearly anyone's needs.
